Why are the PJ64 team taking money now? When we have spare time, we have to decide how we spend that time. Is it playing a game, watching a movie, doing some other work that we could sell, or working on Project64? As a user who wants to see PJ64 go on improving, I am sure you would like us to use our spare time to develop PJ64. This is one of the reasons why the idea came up. I (Zilmar) love working on Project64 but it is hard to justify the time I spend. Even with some money coming in the amount we make per hour is terrible, I could easily make a lot more money doing contracting. At least getting some return does mean that I spend time developing this program instead of looking at other opportunities. Sorry but the reality is, none of us are rich, and we have to eat. Does the money really effect the work we do? Yes it really does. PJ64 is a hobby project done by a small group of programmers and game fans that's been going almost 7 years. All that we were trying to do, has been done, now we are improving and making things better based on those years of experience and improved skills. It also lets us know we are appreciated by the user base because giving us something back shows you are serious. The more people who donate the more we want to do for these users, it's as simple as that. Other Questions
